Workshop Roma / Italia – 3 days – 1 to 3 october 2021

🇬🇧 – Italian Political Culture since 1989
The contribution of the Peripli Association took place on the zoom platform on Friday 1 October and Saturday 2 October in the presence of about 60 people, mostly young people.
The 1st day report.
The first day opened with a welcomed video on Italy, it was introduced by prof. Nevila Xindi, coordinator of the project itself, and a wide introduction by Prof. Maria Donzelli, President of Peripli and coordinator of the Italian team, who recalled the fundamental values of democracy in Italy, due to the Resistance to Fascism and to the Constitutional Charter, still in force, but underlined the difficulties for maintaining democracy in a country marked by many difficulties.
The intervention of prof. Paolo Mancini focused on the theme “Turibulance, Volatility and Polarization: Italian culture since 1989”. Dr. Rosa Fioravante instead emphasized the theme “Democracy as Ideology: From the fall of the Berlin Wall to the fall of liberalism ».
After extensive discussion, the meeting ended with the song “Bella ciao”, sung in 9 languages and which has become a symbol of resistance all over the world.

The 2 day
Report The second day opened with a video of Giorgio Gaber’s song, “Freedom” and, after an introduction to the day’s work by dr. Rita Felerico, Vice President of Peripli, saw protagonists, especially the young people of our Association. The meeting was divided into 2 workshops. The first, led by dr. Loredana Cornero, dedicated to “The evolution of large mass parties in Italy since ’89”, accompanied by cards, videos, welcomed a significant testimony of the journalist dr. Martina Lalovic on « The question of identities and strong emigrations from the Balkan Region”.
The second workshop, led by prof. Beatrice Sica, dedicated to “The current situation of democracy in Italy and its role between the EU and the Mediterranean Region”, also accompanied by cards and videos, welcomed the intervention of prof. Antonio Tursi on the theme “Parties to the digital challenge: between Participation and Partecipationism”.
The day ended with a broad discussion on the proposed topics, a concluding speech by prof. Maria Donzelli on the challenges that await us and the song “Viva l’Italia” by Francesco De Gregori and Lucio Dalla.

Reporter The third day was dedicated to a virtual visit to the Museum of the Resistance in Rome.

Il contributo dell’Associazione Peripli si è svolto su piattaforma zoom il venerdi 1 ottobre e il sabato 2 ottobre alla presenza di circa 60 persone, in prevalenza giovani.
Report 1° giorno
Il primo giorno si è aperto con un video sull’Italia, è stato introdotto dalla prof. Nevila Xindi, coordinatrice del progetto stesso, e da un’ampia introduzione della Prof. Maria Donzelli, presidente di Peripli e coordinatice dell’equipe italiana, che ha richiamato i valori fondamentali della democrazia in Italia, dovuti alla Resistenza al fascismo e all’impianto della Carta costituzionale, tuttora in vigore, ma ha sottolineato le difficoltà per il mantenimento della democrazia in un paese marcato da molte difficoltà.
L’intervento del prof. Paolo Mancini è stato centrato sul tema “Turibulance, Volatility and Polarization: Italian culture since 1989”. La dr.ssa Rosa Fioravante invece ha posto l’accento sul tema “Democraty as Ideology: From the fall of the Berlin Wall to the fall of liberalism.
Dopo ampia discussione, l’incontro si è chiuso con la canzone “Bella ciao”, cantata in 9 lingue e divenuta simbolo della resistenza in tutto il mondo.

Il secondo giorno si è aperto con un video della canzone di Giorgio Gaber, “La libertà” e, dopo un’introduzione dei lavori della giornata della dr. Rita Felerico, Vicepresidente di Peripli, ha visto protagonisti soprattutto i giovani della nostra Associazione. L’incontro è stato articolato su 2 workshop. Il primo, guidato dalla dr. Loredana Cornero, dedicato a “The evolution of large mass parties in Itali since ’89”, corredato da schede, video, ha accolto una significativa testimonianza della giornalista dr. Martina Lalovic sulla “questione delle identità and strong emigrations from the Balkan Region”.
Il secondo workshop, guidato dalla prof. Beatrice Sica, dedicato a “The current situation of democracy in Italy and its role between rhe EU and the Mediterranean Region”, corredato anch’esso da schede e video, ha accolto l’intervento del prof. Antonio Tursi sul tema “Parties to the digital challange: between Partecipation and Partecipationism”.
La giornata si è conclusa con un’ampia discussione sui temi proposti, un intervento conclusivo della prof. Maria Donzelli sulle sfide che ci attendono e la canzone “Viva l’Italia” di Francesco De Gregori e Lucio Dalla.
